We’ve been to Cornerstone several times for brunch or lunch and yesterday we tried the new lunch menu. Great choice of meals and sizes including a separate healthy snack or meal menu based on paleo principals. We enjoyed the lamb croquettes – absolutely delicious. This was one of the best lunches we’ve had in Blenheim and at a great price.
Looks like ‘service’ is a big issue here! We certainly got none when we visited for a special anniversary dinner. Only one table had guests when we entered who were then leaving. We were ushered to our choice of table and seated with no problem. That’s where the service ended. Two further tables came in after us (table of 3 and one for 8) who then had orders taken and were served whilst we were kept waiting. At least 25 minutes after arriving with still no service (I know the time we waited as I had texted daughter sometime after our arrival, then checked time text was sent after we had been waiting sometime) we got up and went to a competitors. Nice building, but if you want a feed any time the same evening, forget it – won’t be wasting my time there again! Had emailed on their website but never heard anything back from them – shoddy Customer Service, I’m amazed they’re still in business reading through their past feedback!

Had Sunday lunch here today, not nice at all. Un-attentive staff, slow service, below average food. Pork sausages were under-cooked and presentation was very sloppy. Seafood platter very bland, everything on the plate looked the same. Unexciting. Even the orange juice wasn’t pure, looked and tasted like cordial. A big shame, great building and location but service and food lacking. Will not return.
I had been recommended this place, perhaps that is why I was a disappointed. The menu choices were difficult as I couldn’t find much that I wanted. The staff seemed like they didn’t really want to be there which was a bit of a downer for a Friday afternoon. I hope I just caught them on a bad day.
We had a meal at the cormerstone on 16 Feb 2009. I have to say that it was the worst food that I have ever eaten in Blenheim. It is also the first time that I have dined out in Blenheim and did not enjoy the food. It was very greasy and stogy.
i loved the cornerstone restaurant and bar because of the great atmosphere and the awesome TVs! the waitresses and waiters i came across were all great and really helpful. good service and looking forward to going again!
