Apparently changing management as of March??I can see why.Miserable menu compared to what it was like a year or so ago… incomplete, expensive, and as though they’ve given up bothering about anything already. Bad atmosphere.The waitresses were very nice and helpful and attentive, I hope the new management can keep them on.
Nice atmosphere but meals are not up to there price.The lamb salad was very basic and the main chicken meals were very small and quite bland. There are better places in Nelson to eat better food for less $.
We went here for dinner tonight on a whim a lot of other places seemed to be closed or else people were stuffed in like sardines. It was fantastic!The food was delicious, my husband had the calamari and I had the brushetta, it was wonderful. We both had the chilli penne and the seafood was cooked to perfection. We shared a bottle of red wine.The staff were attentive, polite and not overbearing at all. We are used to eating at restaurants in Wellington and Cafe Olive is definitely up there!

The first time we’ve been back this year since management changed.We used to be regulars and probably now will be again as it was still lovely food and we were well looked after by warm friendly staff.
A friend of mine booked me at Cafe Olive a dinner for two..when we get there,the staff were very accommodating and assist our orders immediately. hmmm ..the food (tapas) were so great and yummy…they even give us another set of bread (don’t know what its called) and a hot chocolate for free…it is our first time but i know it wouldn’t be a last…. thumbs up!!!My rate 9/10 keep it up.
I got a voucher deal for 4 beers and tapas. Great service and atmosphere. Tapas were good mostly just dips on tapas menu, would like to see a few more options. Beers on tap tasty, preferred the pilsner to the lager but that’s just me. Can’t comment on mains cause the tapas actually filled us up which is a good thing. Would recommend.
