Stopped by for a fairly late dinner around 8.30pm. The staff was very friendly and the place was nice and quiet. Started with the salmon tartar which was simply delicious. I thought that the beetroot didn’t need to be there but the combination of the capers, shallot and salmon was just divine. Had the signature dish for the main which was nice. The steak was cooked well and the bacon wrapped prawns on top were good. Had the chocolate bavarois for dessert. The texture was nice but the chocolate in the ice cream overwhelmed the bavarois and I couldn’t really taste the coconut.Good meal and service overall.

We thought this to be a great place to relax with a coffee, & we loved the rustic appeal of the dark wooden exterior which extends inside giving a warm, fuzzy feeling when it’s cold outside. They do great freshly baked muffins to go with that beautifully brewed coffee too

We ordered a steak sandwich (medium) and a salmon nicoise. Instead of a medium, it was more likely to be a well-done one and everything was almost cold. Furthermore the bacon on it was not really visible and the size of the sandwich was absolutely disappointing. The salmon was tasteless and too oily. The only acceptable part about our visit was the nice and friendly service, although it took them a long time to prepare our food and take the dishes away.

Had brekky here on Saturday of Easter Weekend. Nelson was busy but I was able to get a table here in the sun. Staff are friendly and took my order in good time but I was disappointed at the size of the meal and the guy chain smoking at the table behind me…tobacco flavoured french toast anyone? It was also crap to pay $1 for a drop of whipped cream from a can; I had assumed it would be freshly whipped cream from a place like this).

We we were impressed with both quality of the ingredients and presentation of the food. Ate there on the Sunday after New Year, not expecting such fresh ingredients. The grilled Snapper was fresh and moist and the sirloin steak was well presented, but a little on the tough side. The Eton mess desert was served deconstructed. The meringue was excellent and the local berries heavenly. Great service, we ate at the bar and enjoyed the the friendly banter that comes with that location.

Called in here for a quick breakfast and what came out was amazing! Delish eggs on toast and lovely flat white. Will absolutely be coming back here 🙂

Could not rate this restaurant any higher! I had the beef cheek and it was probably the best meal I’ve had in my life. And I’ve eaten a lot of food in various places. I’ve never given a review of a place before but this place was so deserving of this rating. Was nice and cosy and service was fantastic! Thank you 🙂
