Great little Lambretta Scooter themed cafe with a ton of space inside and a few outside tables if you fancied brunch in the sun. We ordered coffee, bacon and eggs and pancakes from the counter and they arrived fairly pronto.Coffee was nice but little effort had been made on presentation and the cups were quite marked and bashed about through wear.Food was ok but as with the coffee little lack lustre on presentation. Service was generally friendly.
Craving some sugary treats we stopped in for afternoon tea. The selection wasn’t huge but everything looked good and we settled for the ‘chocolate velvet’ custard square and lemon curd tart. The custard was perfectly smooth, complemented with a white chocolate icing and shaved coconut. The only let-down would be the soggy pastry. The lemon curd tart had a friand-like texture which I liked and wasn’t too sweet. We left quite content.
A great place for breakfast. Never pass by Nelson without expressly coming here! Live the French toast, salmon and scrambled egg and the vegetarian breakfast with haloumi.
What a shame David – the lunch that my mother and I had when on a visit home was marvellous. The service by the host was impeccable as was my Nachos, and mum couldn’t fault the Seafood chowder. We didn’t have coffee, so unable to comment there, but were happy with the sweet selection and purchased additionalslices to take away. I don’t eat out a great deal, possibly due to some 20 years spent in hospitality, but found the service in New Zealand to be far and above found here in Australia. I’d go back.
We come to Lambretta’s every year when camping, unfortunately the quality isn’t great. The cabinet food is ok but the cooked breakfast I had this morning was awful, as was the coffee. The hash brown looked like it was straight out of a McCains bag. The big breakfast was over greasy. There are far better cafes that offer a great experience, like Fords at the top end of Trafalger Street
Lambreta’s full breakfast was fantastic. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked free range, with mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, hash brown. Only down side was the 20 min wait for the food. Good atmosphere.
As always a fantastic breakfast at Lambies. Salmon eggs bene for me with loads of salmon, yummy holandaise and crunchy toast. Full breakfast for my husband and the others, all came promptly and with friendly service. And as usual, great coffees. We’ve been coming here for years and never had a bad meal.
