Great wait staff! Sadly that the steak was med to med/well done when asked for med/rare! Still tasted amazing and boulangere was fantastic!
Fabulously friendly staff and prompt service that was pleasantly unexpected. Greeted and seated upon arrival with just the right amount of attention given to a couple out for a celebratory meal. Despite it being a busy Friday night, our perfectly cooked steaks arrived without much of a wait and enquiries whether we wanted out drinks topped up.Definitely recommend it for all those who like their hearty meals!
I have dined here twice. Once for my partners mid year work-do.I do have to admit, we had already had a few so I didnt notice the wait if there was one. My waitress spilt the butter on my shoes while putting down my meal. It was clearly an accident but I think she was so embarresed that she didnt stay to clean it up! That made for an interesting trip to the bar. Buttery boots and wooden floors dont mix! However, overall the food was delicious and massive!Second time round, the service was impeccable! Restaurant was packed but the food was quick. A few times I was bought a drink with ice when I asked for none, but that was forgivable.I’ll definately be going back 🙂
Kind of like Cobb & Co dragged in to the 2000’s…Great if you like simple steak and chips kind of fare…not particularly imaginative or vegetarian friendly and overpriced for the type of food presented. The service is usually very good sometimes verging on over familiar with the wait staff sitting at the table to explain the specials……crikey….
Coming from Christchurch I have to say not a fan of Lone Star, but went to this Lone-Star last week & enjoyed every bit, best nachos I have tasted & 3 other guests all enjoyed their meals. Service was good if anything a wee bit too much attention from the wait staff, was a bit disappointed with the cheese cake but they were very obliging when I asked for an affogato (wern’t sure what it was) but were happy to make one when told what it was. This Lone-Star is definitely a place I would return to & would recommend
My work have had a X-mas function recently here and this was our first time to come. My husband ordered the double chicken breast, they were beautiful cooked except the stuffing were really awful, he can’t eat them at all. I have medium cooked Rockin’ Rib eye, it turned out well cooked like leather boots. After 20 minutes waiting, they replaced mine and turned out very nice steak. The salad bowl weren’t really taste nicely at all. Not finish yet, time to choose dessert now, a bit skeptical but we gave a try, I chose Kapiti ice cream to minimise any disappointed, yes it was beautiful except the wafer was stale, better not using it at all. The waiter has good customer service. The service of the food was very slow, we all have to wait for almost an hour after we placed our main menu order.
Your typicle lone star, good food & filling meals, unfortunally its sometimes the staff that let it down with them standing around chatting in front of the diners
