We had a group of 22, we all sat together, big plus. It was middle of winter and with an open fire and heaters, it felt really homely and comfortable. The ambience and staff couldn’t be faulted and the food was beautifully cooked. Everyone got what they’d asked for and everyone I spoke to, really enjoyed it, Chef was extremely accomodating and over all it was a brilliant night out. We had platters while meals were cooked and often waiting for meals, not knowing how long the wait will be can be worrying but communication from the kitchen put everyone at ease. Would most definately go again.
Everything a good, honest pub dining experience should be – unpretentious, tasty food (tender tasty steaks, chips that taste like the deep-fryer is cleaned regularly), prompt and friendly service, and a good range of tap beers and cider. A good alternative when some of the more high-profile bars are rammed on a Friday night.
