We were staying close by and decided to pop in. Coffee was great and the service friendly. Had salmon quiche which was reheated in the oven so it came out crisp, it was served with salad and was really tasty and of a generous size.The fire was roaring which was lovely on a cold day. Thoroughly recommend.
What a shame this formerly good value cafe has gone designer. The food is overpriced and the portions are small. The taste and quality of the food itself is ok.We were very disappointed and I felt ripped off although the setting is still lovely. On a sunny public holiday at lunchtime, this place should have been full but it was far from that.
We live in Kaiteriteri and have known about the Riverside Cafe but never eaten a meal there until today. My sister is over from Australia and she wanted to treat me for my birthday and boy what a treat.I chose a beautifully presented stuffed free range chicken on a bed of roasted veg and new potatoes, the blend and juices where just devine.My sister had the Salmon and was just as delighted and my neice had the vegaterian Lasagne. It was great going to a resturant that has so much vegaterian options and on top of that you know that the produce is organic, free range and healthy.The only disadvantage is the meal was so perfect we didn’t find the room for a desert.The atmosphire, the decore, the garden just everything was so special, I will definatly reccomend the Riverside and I can’t wait to go there again. Its a place to impress your friends!

My favourite Nelson/Tasman Region Cafe!!Good prices, great food, lovely setting.Its nice to dine at a business that supports locals, I love that Riverside Cafe tries to source as much produce locally as possible and grows a lot of its own ingredients.
Simply stunning and a meal bursting with flavour. I had a BLT on gluten free bread with a side salad, followed up with a strawberry cheesecake. Wonderful setting, lovely wait staff and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back 🙂
