Definitely not a quality café, more like a suburban bakery. Need a lesson in making Spanikopita. Have travelled most of Europe and NZ and know what excellent Greek Spanikopta tastes like, and this would be the worst Spanikopta ever. Sour dried up spinach, NO Feta, and a horrible spice taste finished with walnuts!!! Spanikopta, NO, I don’t think so., Got get yourselves a good International cook book. Topped off with over cook fries and a croissant with next to nothing in it, $33, However, 10 out of 10 for the Hot Chocolate. what an expensive bakery. Wont be visiting again!
Lovely range of food, but was gobsmacked by the price, $5.50 for a custard square is a joke. We bought two pies, two coffees and some fries, at a total of 34$, which was really steep as we felt we could have had a proper lunch at a restaurant for a few dollars more. The food was nice, nothing memorable, service was good, not spectacular.Would try somewhere else next time instead of going back, purely because of the price.
Have just left this cafe after receiving two burnt flatwhites when had ordered two creamy lattes..after informing counter lady that myself and friend had both burnt our tongues on our coffee we were told to leave because that is how they make their coffee !! I am a fulltime barista and have been for six years, never before have i ever had such rude an flat out disgusting customer service. If you want to be treated like a leper then feel free to spend far too much money here other wise hamishes ice cream parlour around the corner are a amazing !
Stopped for coffee and a light breakfast on our way out of Mapua. Wish I’d discovered it earlier in our stay! Lovely range of pies, cakes and pastries in their cabinets. My ham and cheese croissant was lovely and the date scone I bought for our journey was light and pack full of dates, yum. And great coffee too! Definitely worth a visit.
