Great service and fabulous food. Would defo go back again and again. We asked for bunless burgers and chef was happy to oblige. Beautiful spot opposite a wonderful holiday location

I never knew that a veggie burger could be made out of pumpkin and spices. Definitely a must try !!! Spectacular views over looking the beach …. I really liked the place.

Lovely location. Unfortunately the service and food was not great. We had one waitress which was helpful but a little bit inexperienced. The young man at the counter was arrogant and rude and not helpful what so ever, his customer service skills (lack of) were appalling. The chicken salad tasted like bland chicken covered in soy sauce with no flavor at all and the fish we ordered was as dry as a bone. The toilets were also disgusting and smelt as though they had not been cleaned in several weeks. Overall very disappointing!

Went out for lunch today and tried the Orzo salad and Lamb souvlaki (was a special) and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service for how busy it was… I had read reviews on here and was skeptical at first but i found the pricing to be pretty good, as nothing was over about $25 and the food and service were great, maybe some of the other reviewers just went on an off day?? I would definitely recommend the restaurant/ cafe and will be back for the christmas holidays!!! Thank you to the team at Shoreline for a brilliant lunch, keep up the good work.

Went to shoreline for a coffee and breakfast and have to say its by far the best on the region. We ended up going back for lunch and were amazed at how busy it was on a Sunday, we had to wait for about 20 minutes for our meal, because it was so busy, but it was worth the wait and I will definitely return in the future.

This was the first time I had eaten at Shoreline Cafe and it is safe to say I will never eat there again. I have never experienced such appalling service.I went into Shoreline looking for a small snack for myself and my children before we were being joined by friends who were coming of a cruise. I ordered some hot chips and went and sat out on the deck over looking the beach. When our chips arrived they were wrapped up in paper. I had expected them to arrive on a plate with some sauce and mayo. Not uncommon. Anyway, I said thank-you and proceeded to open up the package. The waitress then said to me ‘You’re not planning on eating those here are you?’ I was bemused. I replied ‘yes’ and she said ‘No you can’t do that you have to eat those outside the restaurant, you can’t sit here and eat takeaway’. Flabbergasted, I asked that she take them back and put them on a plate if it was a problem, but she refused. With that I got up and left. Too bad that I was about to order a glass of wine for myself and the friends that were joining me likely to order meals and drinks also. However upon reading the other reviews here perhaps it’s just as well we didn’t.

Been going to Shoreline for 5 years. Used to really enjoy it but now massively overpriced and food terrible. $21 for a Pizza served on what must have been a shop bought base. Nachos presentation disgraceful. Bowl of fatty beans with sourcream plonked on top and sweet chilli sauce poured over that all glued together with cheese that had welded itself to the plate. Coffee is still good, cake cabinet is fine, but cooked meals, leave well alone. In 5 years of dining around New Zealand and eating out every week this was comfortably the poorest quality meal we have eaten.
