A very pleasant outdoor garden setting perfect for a summer evening meal. Friendly service and the best food we encountered in Takaka. The orange roughy and Whitebait were botb very good.

One of the best places in takaka to go for a meal and a drink. Cozy setting inside and outside. Perfect little restaurant to take your friends for lunch, girls night dinner or just the two for a couple of drinks. I really enjoyed the craft beers here. And absolutely loved the Thursday night live jam sessions. Open till late for the late dance and lovely place to relax, indulge or have a great time.

Lovely outdoor setting and very friendly staff. The seafood chowder was amazing, it had a great texture and delicious smoky after taste. The home-made bread was just perfectly toasted on a cast iron griddle. A fab dining experience.

The Brigand was a lovely place to dine on our way home after a windy day out at Wharariki Beach. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff friendly and attentive.Only downer was that our waitress failed to tell us of several specials before we ordered. The food was good and there was just the right amount.Overall a nice dining experience.

dined on 27th June 2011,garlic bread and chicken tagine very tasty, pork ribs very disappointing, overcooked and sauce not spicy or sticky, very thin. Waitress very efficient and pleasant.
