Met some friends here for a baby shower a few days ago and had a mixed experience. My meal was lovely (kumera and bacon) however my pregnant friends requested their lamb burgers were well done for obvious reasons. The first time their burger was delivered, the meat was raw in the middle (even cool to touch). They sent them back only for them to return still red so returned them again. Third time they finally cooked them through but they had not refreshed the chips on their plates so they were stone cold and the sauce on the burger bun had dried up. Their meals looked terrible and I was shocked the chef had sent them out. We won’t be returning which is a shame as the location was great.
Went for coffee the last few weeks and the lattes are very expensive compared to city prices ie $5.80 for a soy latte. Seems a bit pricey to us.Thanks for your response Kate. All soy latte takeaways in Hamilton and Auckland are $5.00. regardless of the the milk type, we’ve never paid 50c extra for takeaway coffee either, this seems exorbitant.
This place has so much character with its rustic farm feel and all of the garden art. I always enjoy the coffee and recently had breakfast here I am a fan of the French toast. Definitely worth a visit. It is a wee way out of town but it won’t disapoint if you make the effort.
Cutest little place – defo worth a visit to look at the beautiful art and wander around the garden. We only had drinks (which were yummy) and a friend had egg on toast (she did say her toast was very crunchy – like it’d been left after cooking – but I think she enjoyed it). Will defo visit again – it had a lovely atmosphere, despite it pouring with rain, and I even said what a sweet little wedding venue it would make! (just need to find a husband now! ha ha)
My second visit, the first being some time back. The place is looking a bit dated and the retail art work that is supposed to enhance the experience was pretty average.Food was good and well prepared. Spent a lot of time swatting away flies as we were outside. Probably not too bad inside.Staff were very good, no complaints there.Probably won’t make the effort to go out again.
We came through for lunch with a group of friends – the setting was great – did found the flies were a serious problem- spend the whole meal swatting them away – not too hygienic – I would have thought!!Our food was delicious – but would recommend the staff had some training. The girls were so miserable and certainly didn’t look as though they were happy to be serving us. Didn’t make for a happy occasion. Can’t say I will be rushing back.
We drove through from Tauranga with my parents (visiting from overseas) to enjoy a special occasion with my sister. Your establishment was an obvious choice because of their gluten-free options and our previous experiences were very positive. But you have got to do something about the flies! We had to sit with our hands covering our drinks after one drowned in my wine. It is really, really bad.
