Decided to give this place a try during my last visit to Hamilton. Called them up to make a booking and the customer service skills were appalling to begin with. No details and absolutely zero courtesy. They couldn’t entertain me dining in but they could give me a takeaway of the same meal. How stupid is that? When I eventually struggled past all that, the food was nothing special at all. Infact it was below average. Chicken Jalfrezi was all over the place in terms of flavor. No character to the daal makhani either. Naan bread was too chewy and fluffy. The entire meal felt like an obligation on behalf of the chef and the front desk staff. Shambolic.Not going there again. Hope the owners read this review.
Awful resteraunt. Extremelly rude service. I ordered my food online. Their website crashed but the money went out of my bank account. Went down to collect the food where from the moment we entered they treated us like muck. Told that they didn’t have the order. They said that they were calling the help desk but walked out the back so we don’t believe that they even made any effort to track the order down. They then told us that what we ordered and the cost that they added up didn’t match so therefore we couldn’t have possibly have ordered at their resteraunt. They rudely suggested that i clearly ordered at the place around the corner like i was an idiot. Seriously how many places are called Chilli india that are in dinsdale. ONE. When it became clear that they weren’t going to honour our order we matched out (angry since i had to show them my bank account as proof that money had gone out) . I then called the provider that this place works through on the number that they refused to give us. In less than five minutes the girl on the phone found the order (proof they had never even tried to track the order down). I also called my bank to make sure the money was bounced back into my own account. The customer service from those two phone calls were one million times better than the treatment i recieved in this place. They could have wound up with regulars but i will not go back there now. Stay away this place sucks. I gave it a rating of 1 if there was a minus one million i would have given them that vote
Waited for an hour for takeaway which we ordered on the phone then collected – was pretty bad when I did get it! Next time I will just drive into central city.
Great food, very fresh ingredients, had the chicken tikka masala which was great, good service, quick and reliable, and easy parking good location
First time to buy something from this restaurant. I bought the butter chicken dinner ($15.00), as takeaway. That is rice and butter chicken.Friendly staff, and the waiting time was good. Clean and tidy place.However, I find the butter chicken very sweet. The amount of rice and butter chicken is too dear with the price given. Compare this with another Indian restaurant (Shamiana, Central place), Shamiana gives you the same amount of rice and butter chicken, plus a large naan bread and a regular drink for $14.
We waited over 45 minutes for takeout food that was no better than you’d get at the mall (no depth of flavour, very little meat, any only meat and gravy). Felt like they’d forgotten our order, and whipped something up in a hurry, with only the briefest of apologies for the wait. Very disappointed.
Saw a voucher on GrabOne and thought i’d give it a chance. Really friendly service and the mango chicken was super nice 🙂 will probably come back if i’m ever needing my fix of indian food!!
