We live in Cambridge so enjoy going to the Karapiro Café for a spur of the moment breakfast. My partner always gets the big breakfast and I get the mushrooms on toast. The coffee and food are always great. The only suggestion I would make is maybe make the mushrooms more creamy. I have found the gravy that the mushrooms comes in is too rich for breakfast, more like a gravy that should be used for dinner.
My husband and myself are from New Caledonia and we love NZ, each time we try to stop at this fabulous café, it s our favorite. We have yesterday a nice vegetable and bacon soup, and also a great caramel onions and bacon stack. I love all the souvenirs you can buy. Inside it s worm and well decorating, the garden is nice too. It s a great place to have a stop ♡
Stopped in here for a coffee on the way to a cattle sale in Matamata having driven from Taranaki, coffee was hot & well made – just what I needed on a cold May morning! Can’t comment on the food as I only had the coffee, it all looked very tasty, but my Dad had a pie which he said was top notch. Only downside to this place is it can be difficult to get back out on to the main road ( depending on which way you are going). Will definitely call back in tho next time i’m passing 🙂
