i went to this cafe when i was passing through and the coffee was excellent and food looked nice in cabinets and was reasonably priced. I used the bathroom and you have to go through the kitchen and everything out back smelled yummy and was nice and clean and the girls were all laughing and every friendly.I will be back next time I am passing.
This place is great, the food is delicious (especially the homemade date scones, these are huge) and it’s reasonably priced. The staff are a very friendly and happy bunch. Best coffee in Cambridge!!

my brother and i went one day for a quick lunch, the service was appalling, the red headed women was rude, no warmth not even a smile, when the food came out, sadly it was very disappointing i tried to voice my opinion but the red headed women she would not have a bar or it, we then went up to onyx for a flat bread and a beer, it was nice to see the young girl smiling at us and they were very attentive, would i go back to cafe 55? no way, but onyx yes.
I went to Cafe 55 because the day before i got a coffee and it was very nice.The next day i went again and ordered something else. The lady at the front counter did not smile and was not friendly at all. I asked how much my order was and it was a bit expensive for my liking so i told the lady i didn’t want it. She gave me a dirty look and rudely asked if i had handled it i said no i used the tongs. She was giving me rude stares out the window while i was waiting. She came outside and gave my friend her coffee and said to me in an inappropriate order to learn some manners. So i told her she needs to learn some customer service skills (because they were appalling.) She kept back chatting me and stormed off. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone that wants to be treated like dirt.
