Two for one night. Was there with a large group celebrating a birthday. Meals were nice but took 30-90 minutes to arrive depending on what you ordered. We even had to clear our own dishes to make room on the table. If you are going to offer half of the meals free you need more than half of the normal roster of staff. One of the staff walked through the restaurant at one stage with his Noodle Takeaway dinner.
Have been a regular of the Yardy for some time. Like going on a Friday night for their Steak special. Last Friday had to complain as could not eat it, was as tuff as old boots. Spat out most of it, complained to manager who then gave me a lesson on Rump Steak being a tuff meat. Even showed me and my friends where it is on the animal, however he had really nice piece earlier that night. Good for him, not for me. Offered as compensation for a meal I could not eat, a glass of wine. Declined the wine. Not on.
this is a very friendly bar, has good food, and very good staff who care about and take pride in the place. on a tuesday night , they have a very well run quiz night that attracts a good friendly group of people. the quiz are reasonably differcult but testing. the quizmaster is very well recieved and makes up the quizes very well. with the new menu, we have found it a little overpriced , but they ARE trying to cater for all .
Good atmosphere, handy location (about a km down the road from where I live) with plenty free off-street parkings. Service is average/good. There was one guy on the opening day that extremely great but I haven’t seen him since then. I ordered bangers & mash once and it was horrible. Sausages were overcooked and mash was runny. However their curly chips and wings were quite good. Their Mississippi chocolate mud was the best. They have special buy 1 get 1 free on Mondays, all you can eat wings for $10 on Wednesdays, etc which is really awesome. Their doorman/guard wasn’t so friendly though.
Good all round ‘local’ tavern. We live in another part of Hamilton, but really have made this our local.(Since it has had an extensive refurbishment) Excellent, well priced menu, great chefs provide good sized meals.Nice atmosphere, with open fire theme, lots of TVs (for when live sports are on) and helpful bar staff make for a worthwhile visit. Regular promotions. Paul S
