Shirl’s Takeaways are one of the best I have ever tasted (fish and chips) burgers are very average for the price you pay though – and it is not presented very nicely either. However, based purely on their fish and chips shirls is ngaruawahia’s number one – hands down! (Price and taste) the batter is delicious, chips are fat and crispy outter, fluffy inner. The workers are also lovely, the young girl in there always has a smile on her face and the owners also are nice people. If shirls either lowered their burger prices and or added to their burgers abit and put abit more love into it, i would rate this place 10/10, but for now it is a 9/10 ;-)I have one more thing to add, get rid of the lemon juice in the raw fish and put REAL lemon juice in, rawfish is not great at all.
