We were there recently for breakfast. We got he big breakfast and eggs benny. Good value as we used a grabone otherwise may have been a bit let down, your standard breakfast fare. Coffee was better. There’s a cheaper cafe across the road that I would probably try next time. Go to coffee plus for the atmosphere, it’s nice inside.
Went here recently for a lunch. Blonde lady at counter was very rude and service was average. Food was not what I had expected and looked like it was out of a box. Hot chocolate came to the table with some of it spilt in the saucer. Would not recommend this café, are a lot nicer cafes elsewhere in Taupo. Won’t be back!!
I wonder if this cafe has changed hands. Used to be a good bet for breakfast, but today my $15 Potato Rosti Stack turned out to be three mini frozen hash browns and 2 slices of undercooked round bacon with spinach and sundried tomatoes scattered on the side. To be fair, the dish usually includes an egg which I asked not to have. No substitution was offered, and when I enquired I was told that bacon was more expensive than egg. And no, there wasn’t an egg discount. Coffee average and slopped over saucer when it arrived. I shan’t be back.
This is my favourite cafe in taupo. Consistently great coffee, cabinet food always looks fresh and great. My hubby likes BLAT and I loved scallop and bacon salad, delicious. Also very good value for money.
Great friendly staff and fantastic food. We just keep going back.
After spending a week and trying several of Taupos Cafe’s this was definitely the best; Friendly staff and great range of delicious food and the best coffee at reasonable prices.
