this place is gross my husband and i went for lunch it was highly overpriced and down right dirty!!!!!! do not eat here the food has the texture of cardboard.i am very disappointed as McDonald’s is a 5 star eating experience compared to this place and we all know what eating at mcds is like.
At weekend went for an early evening drink to see if anything had improved under change of ownership. Sadly no. Tables not cleared very often (same as last visit) and when eventually cleared they were not wiped down (apart from one staff member -an Irish lady).Staff eating meal at the bar (customer side but still not a good look). Place just seemed unclean. Didn’t eat there on this occasion. Bar had only two choices of very basic Chardonnay but at Oyster Bay prices. This place has so much potential.
Overall experience of this Irish Pub was incredibly poor. My fiance and I took, my best friend, her husband and their two children. We picked up the menus only to find they were sticky and disgusting. We should have left then and there. We ordered our food and went to sit outside. There was no shade available and the tables had old food, glasses and plates everywhere. The tables were sticky and very dirty. I am surprised they haven’t been shut down. The dinner my friends husband had ordered was then apparently sold out. When my fiance went into the bar for a drink, the bar staff were talking about how the cook didn’t want to cook that meal. Overall, the food was abysmal at best and my friend only ate half of her burger before pushing it to the side. She was then very ill later on in the night. I have e-mailed the Manager this morning to find out why the bar is so filthy. To date I have received no response. Perhaps they are sitting with the dirty plates no one cleared. Eat here if you want to get food poisoning.
What can I say but very poor value for money. Whilst on holiday I went here for dinner and ordered the Open Steak Sandwich for $18.90, it promised a Tender Grilled Scotch Fillet on a lightly toasted Focaccia. What I got was a piece of steak (which they advised me was Scotch) the thickness of cheap schnitzel on a piece of focaccia no more than 15cm long with a slight covering of lettuce, 2 thin slices of tomato, a stack of fries and 2 soggy onion rings. I did complain but as I had nearly finished my meal they wouldn’t do anything about it. The meals my companions had were ‘acceptable’ but the two who had the Classic Carbonara both said it tasted like packet mix and for $16 felt it lacked in quantity. All up we could have had better value and taste from McDonalds! Irish pubs are usually great value for money but this one has well and truly let the Irish down.
