Had my daughters 21st dinner here last June, and it was really good, it was a busy Saturday night, but their service was great.Meals were beautiful, couldn’t fault it really. Would come back again.
Busy busy busy, Lonestar is Lonestar you always know what you are going to get if you are a repeat customer and it will taste the same every time and be presented the same every time it’s called consistency and Lonestar should pride themselves on it because they never fail! Front of house staff although busy as heck (iron man weekend) you guys did a flawless job big pat on the back. (I know hospo work hospo and live hospo :)) never disappointed apart from the fact that our waitress finished before we did and we weren’t able to give her tip to her in person (we hope you got it)! All in all great as per the norm thanks guys 🙂
Had the worst stake ever, could not eat it, told the staff and was told it was fine. Cold chips and old salad. No taste in the so called sauces. Very bad. Will never go back and cost $72. But the beer was ok.
Called to book a table and was told it was not necessary just come down in about an hour. Turned up and was told rather rudely we should have booked and it would be at least a two hour wait to be seated. Not an acceptable way to conduct business, reading others reviews seems this is par for the course for this place, recommend avoiding.
Took clients here for a dinner. Service started well downstairs. We moved upstairs. Drink orders took a long time as the drinks had to come from downstairs. 1 meal was missed off the order, unfortunately it was the key clients meal. By the time the meal was cooked everyone had finished. When asked if we had to pay for the late meal it was abruptly taken from us by the owner with no explanation. When I questioned him about it he told me he didn’t have time for me. Very embarrassing. Would not take people here again.
Had lunch here yesterday & afternoon drinkees today, fast friendly service, warm welcoming atmosphere & a free garlic loaf this afternoon to boot!! Can’t fault it, definitely be back next time I’m in Taupo 🙂
As fans of the Auckland Lone Star restaurants, we thought we should try out the brand spanking new restaurant in Taupo. We dined with friends as a group of eight on a Saturday night between Christmas and New Year (peak season). We only had to wait about 40 minutes for our table (although I’d put our name on the list earlier in the day). The food was great – the only complaint from the group was that there wasn’t enough sauce on the ribs. The desserts were absolutely amazing!!!!!Service was okay, except for the wait on ordering drinks. We were seated upstairs (which has an amazing view of the lake, by the way) and even though there was a bar located on this level, for some reason our order had to be prepared downstairs. That took a really, really long time, as there were loads of people waiting in the bar for their table. You can see pictures of our meals and more details of our experience at http://celestereviews.wordpress.com/2013/01/02/a-lone-star/. celestereviews.com
