We love this restaurant and have trouble sometime deciding whether to have dinner at the Waterside or our other favorite Taupo restaurant Lava Rock. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The Surf N Turf steak is mouth watering perfection. We all often have trouble deciding whether to have the Lamb or Steak. Deserts delicious. We will keep coming back. Great value for money, not to mention the breathtaking views across the lake to the mountains. Well done.
Tried this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night Рfor a dinner out with my family who hail from all parts of the Bay of Plenty and King Country. From the time we walked in we were treated like we were special customers. The staff were very friendly and most certainly attentive. Several of us tried the Salmon entr̩e and were so delighted with it that one other decided that he should order one as well. The leak and Blue cheese soup of the day was to die for. The main courses were all wonderful with 6 ordering eye fillet steak Рsuperbly cooked according to all accounts. I had the pork rack, awesome Рpork not at all dry. One had the lamb rack Рcame med rare just as ordered and the last one of us had the Surf and turf and no complaints came from that direction either. With such a lovely dinner no one wanted to eat dessert (most unusual). We also had a coupon that entitled all of us to either a house wine or beer free with our main course. So all in all an excellent night out for a very reasonable cost. Most definitely will return and certainly recommended.
My partner and I dined here last week for dinner while staying in Taupo. The view and location is amazing. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We ordered the chicken breast and steak, my only complaint is the chicken was dry and the portions are quite small for the price. But still a very enjoyable night.
We often stop at the Waterside in Taupo, mostly because you get a great view of the lake and watch the world go by. I have always enjoyed my meals and wine and will definitely go back
Delightful little restaurant right on the corner overlooking the lake, such a pretty view especially when dining at around sunset time. I have dined here both in summer and winter, enjoying the grand open windows in summer and the warm fireplace in winter. The menu is pretty standard but V tasty! The staff are amazing! Service is top quality and the staff all look very tidy. The wine list and cocktail menus are scrumptious!
We went to this restaurant for lunch on Saturday and Sunday over Easter. The staff were fantastic and the food superb. I had the Asian salad the first time and the Chicken salad the next day. My partner had the same hash both days it was so good. The views are fantastic as well. We will be back!
I go to Taupo every May & always have lunch here at least once during my stay. Beautiful outlook,friendly staff, fast service & tasty food. It’s always nice & warm inside & I’ve always been greeted with a smile. It is definitely one of my favourite places in Taupo. See you in May!! 🙂
