Super average. Ordered the battered oysters, calamari and fish bites. Calamari was like cardboard, fish bites were super oily and batter was thick and raw. Oysters were fine but served with the vinegarette which is more of a raw oyster thing, some tartare or something would have been nicer. Sauces with other dishes were also super average and the flavours didn’t fit too well. Prompt service, nice staff and warm. I feel like this place is trying to be something it’s not, wouldn’t return.
I was only down here in Taupo for one night from Auckland for work. Came here for dinner after seeing the Google reviews. The wait staff was very welcoming and the service was exceptionally good. After we were seated, we were ask what drinks we would like. Since it was quite cold in Taupo, we wanted some hot water to drink, which they gave us a small teapot with some nice small cups which I find is a good touch. Anyway, on to the mains, we ordered 300g rump steak (medium) with chips special, soup of the day and the lamb rack special. I have the say that, the steak was one of the best I have ever tasted, it was very juicy and not overcooked at all. The lamb rack was crispy outside but soft and juicy inside. The food standard definitely match up with their service level which was great. Everything was decently priced, and the location and view was good too. I would definitely come back again next time if I am down in Taupo. *Special mention, Natalya the waitress was very good.Taste – 4.5/5Service – 4.5/5Ambiance – 3.5/5Value – 4/5
