We recently (start of October 2014) enjoyed a lovely lunch at Manaia Cafe & Bar. My beetroot and feta salad was delicious and the hubby can’t stop raving about his ‘Trust the Chef’ platter for one – it was huge! The staff were very personable and I love the interesting wine list, especially the international reds. Definitely will be returning. celestereviews.com
A couple of weeks ago, we stopped in for breakfast passing through from whitianga. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. The portions were huge and were far too much to finish even though they tasted great! Despite being super full I was tempted by a savoury scroll when paying my bill. This too was amazing when I eventually ate it. Overall, great food. Great value for money. We will definitely stop there again . Yum yum

Came here for lunch and dinner on our trip away. We are quite the foodies and were very impressed. Staff were friendly and helpful with local knowledge. Music flows from inside to out. Flames and candles create a warm and romantic ambience. We were shocked to see the comment below. The chef achieves at mixing westernized favorites with other cuisines and is surprisingly successful even tho in a small country town. We are coming back with visitors from overseas. Will be recommending 🙂 please go and enjoy the same experience!
Passing through town and thought this would be a nice place to stop. Couldn’t be more wrong. Despite the nice atmosphere it turned out to be incredibly cramped inside. Slow service, food overpriced and not pleasant. Not to mention the screaming owner. We pitied the staff.We will not be returning. Very disappointed.
