On an impulse we went for a hot summer Friday night jaunt to Raglan for the sunset, some food and a feelgood end to the week. Pleased to see The Depot was open, part of the Good George stable from Hamilton. The place was buzzing, DJ providing a nice background to the punters using the lovely outside dinning with a sea view down the harbour to the setting sun over the bar. Staff were friendly efficient and welcoming. Recommend the White Sangria jug to share – bootiful. Settled on a couple of entrees as desert was going to be at Orca over the road. Squid and Prawns, both $14 seemed a good start. The spicy prawns were a delight with 3 skewers of 2 prawns per skewer cooked to perfection. The squid was just a taste, 7 rings freshly cooked, tender and nicely flavoured on a bed of greens with tasty dressing – surely they could have splashed out on a few more pieces of squid because for $14 you got less that 50c worth of actual squid. Very disappointing in terms of value for $
