A hidden gem and it was well worth finding, had lunch there the omelette, was light, and the salmon melted in your mouth, highly recommend, staff were very helpful and made it a pleasure to dine there, and the view was breath taking
We stopped here for breakfast having had a lovely experience attending a 70th birthday function a couple of years ago. This restaurant has got to be the best location in New Zealand. It is quiet and right on the lake front. The service was first class, the food would match any of the top restaurants in the city. The meals were so substantial that we thought that we would not be able to eat it ; we did manage to finish it as it was too good to leave.
The location is fantastic located at the southern most tip of lake Taupo on the waters edge. Ideal for a beer outside in the afternoon sun looking over the water.The thought is really there with the meals and the presentation, however at the price they did not make the mark. Both my duck and prawns were over just cooked. We will be heading back however as maybe it was just a bad night and a couple of unlucky dishes.Well worth hunting out, even if you are just wanting a beer in the sun.
