Well my husband and myself treated our selves to a week end away at the historic Waitomo Hotel. What a hidden gem.The food was amazing, I had the green seafood curry for my main and my husband had the fillet steak, he could choose his sauce and sides for $35 chips off course with a chasseur sauce.We both had the passion fruit panacotta for dessert it was delish.Have recommended the place to all my friends to try.
Last night’s dinner was a complete shocker! After waiting over 2 1/2 hours for a main course, it was very insulting to be served a piece of steak that you wouldn’t feed your dog. My wife’s salmon was overcooked and dry as well.
great food and very nice old place stayed in room 12a where was ment to be haunted but recieved no bad cama or feeling.. loved the service recieved from one gabrielle mita who made one of the most fantastic coffees i have ever recieved.. got taken on a full tour of the place and loved the atmosphere.. prices on rooms were very adequate and well worth the stay.. the only negative from the place was the lighting at night down the drive way but while driving up in the darkness it left something to be revealed. a hidden gem in the rough!!
