Excellent, diverse menu with great, friendly unobtrusive service. The quality of the food is superb and very well presented. Definitely recommended when you’re in Whitianga, but it pays to book in advance.
Superb. The best meal I have ever had in Whitianga. Helped in no small measure by outstanding service, excellent advice on wine, and a phenomenal Wagyu steak!Diverse and eclectic menu choices, wines by the glass you actually want to drink, wonderful ambiance. Thoroughly recommend.
Restaurant is tucked away in a side street but it is well worth a visit. We have been twice now and the food and service are simply world class. On our first visit our guest was a UK restauranteur and she was blown away by the quality of the food. Motu can certainly teach some of those upstart Wellington dining spots a thing or two.Highly recommended.
Motu Kitchen is a small restaurant located down a small side street, but it is well worth finding. We dinned here twice during our week long stay in Whitianga. The service is friendly and excellent, and the décor is modern and smart. Then there is the food – innovative, well cooked and yummy. We don’t often give five stars but Motu deserved them. Its not the cheapest place around but well worth it. We averaged about $175 for two entrée, two mains and a bottle of wine.
This is a great option for lunch or dinner and has an option for indoor and outdoor dining. It feels like a nice fusion of Coromandel charm and fine dining.Fantastic, fine quality restaurant cuisine in a rustic setting with friendly efficient service – Whitianga class!!P.S You’ve gotta try the Squid – it’s amazing!
Food good, but could do with a kids menu.
