Great customer service and good environment. Perfection from manager on duty when food was delayed, he was polite enough and attentive to apologize us. Food was bit blended, but service blew us!
Excellent food, great customer service and entertaining teppanyaki time tonite. We had the Wagyu combination set of Wagyu steak and prawns, Scallops entree set, pre-school set that has fries, fish, orange, 2 sushi rolls and school age set that has fries, fried rice, chicken and vegetables. I must say that the Wagyu combination and scallops will be my go-to dishes in Daikoku from now on. The beef just melts in my mouth, the prawns with yum yum sauce was perfectly cooked and man, the scallops were just simply fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back again.
The portion has reduce since last visit in February 2019. Waiting time for cooking is 30min on Monday, possible only one chef work in the kitchen area. Service is not very good, and staffs seems unhappy.
For a small town like Hamilton, it is rather surprising how many Japanese restaurants there are! I was even more surprised to have them run by Japanese people and serve rather decent food. Daikoku is one such example. It has the Teppanyaki tables and the accompanying theatrics which is still entertaining. The serving is huge too.
Has always been a good place to come for an entertaining lunch (don’t come if you need to eat in a rush). It was one of my go to restaurants but the quality has slipped (depends on the chef cooking) and the price has gone up. Definitely only come here for lunch as the price is more reasonable. Always order extra yum yum sauce!
My friends and I go to there on Tuesday night.Sashimi is not fresh enough. Shushi rice is so dry that you cannot pick it up. Disappointing experience. Never go back again.
Took my husband here for his birthday last night. Really good experience. The food was delicious, no complaints there! It was nice how the food comes out in parts so you don’t feel like you’re waiting long. The teppan yaki experience was cool as well. Very good service and the food was great!
