Absolutely one of the best that the Hutt has to offer. As a avid dine out person, I’ve eaten almost everywhere in both Upper and Lower Hutt and whilst there are some very good places out there, this one is right up there with my recommendation of their butter chicken. Great people, great food but the decor is poor.
I was looking forward to a nice Mee goreng, unfortunately this one fell short, no bean sprouts, very little meat as we got combination and the noodles we’re dry with very little chilli. Almost felt like it was left over from the lunch menu. The flavour itself wasn’t bad, but it’s certainly not what the menu says. Dissapointing 🙁
Absolutely yummy food. Its fresh, no processed foods, great variety of meals, meals are well presented. Its feels like a family business, welcoming and friendly. Price is reasonable
This is a family favourite for birthday celebrations. The portions are large, and the beef rangdan is one of the best my partners ever tasted. The staff are very friendly. Grab a beer from the pub next door or order from the small drinks menu. Just don’t expect much from the decor. It does good food and that’s what matters jenjaroo.com
Been coming here for years. The Lamb Curry is the probably the closest to a real Malaysian Lamb Curry you’ll get anywhere in Wellington and is why I pretty much keep coming back. They have always been consistent with the food I order and are friendly.So 5.0 for Lamb Curry.
I created an account just to rate this place. The people are friendly but the food is possibly dangerous. I wish I had enjoyed the food as I liked the people but it is simply terrible. We had Mee Goreng which seemed stale and the Roti were inedible and seemed rancid. Something is up when I can’t polish off a Roti I can tell you.It is right next to a pub so I can only assume the earlier reviews were from people with a skinfull. I think the only other person who could like this would be Bear Grylls.These folks may have good and bad days I guess and if so they have a real consistency problem if they can be as bad as I experienced. I will never go back there and you should not take the risk.
Have been coming here for years! First time got back from Australia went straight to this restaurant! Has a laid back atmosphere & the food is OUTSTANDING! The owners are awesome people, very friendly. If you haven’t been here, then you don’t know what your missing!
