I went here this past Saturday for brunch with my partner and friend. I’ve seen such good things online and have been dying to try this place so maybe I went in expecting too much but we were all disappointed with our experience here. We were seated by the maître d’ (we assumed, the only one not wearing the stripey tshirts) with the short hair and in over the hour we were here we didn’t get any friendly customer service from her, not one smile. We were at a table in view of the kitchen and the food being made ready. After about half an hour (not too bad)?our food was ready and the maître d’ went to bring the food over. She put down my partner and friend’s eggs benedict without a word and left my plate of bacon and eggs up on the pass, leaving me without a meal and proceeding to walk past my table and my plate on the pass a few more times while my poached eggs hardened and my bacon went cold. We eventually had to go ask a different waitress if she could retrieve my meal, who stood around while and looked for its docket before allowing me my breakfast. By the time I got it, it was hard and cold & my friend and partner were halfway through theirs. Obviously the food wasn’t enjoyable but I had one of their fresh, green juices and that was nice at least. Sadly will not be returning when Wellington has an abundance of smiling waitresses and warm food almost everywhere else.
Staff are extremely friendly, atmosphere is extremely nice, music not too loud, and the food is oh so good. Plus a chocolate fish with my coffee is a bonus.
Great service and vibe, unfortunately the food is just average, nothing special. Usually the food is ok but this time it was below average. I ordered the full breakfast (pretty generic like everywhere else- eggs,toast, tomato’s, hash brown and sausages) the eggs were over done and rubbery, the hash brown over cooked and the black pudding undercooked- tasted like microwaved food. The tomato’s were just slop- Having worked in the industry it’s not hard to screw up and it wasn’t busy, so there shouldn’t be an excuse. If the service, Staff and Vibe wasn’t how it was I’d give a 1 Star.
I am truly surprised on why other reviewers are not giving this restaurant a higher rating. I love this place and so do the rest of my family. The food is delicious and service is great. I recommend the lamb cutlets dish and market fish dish. We will definitely come back here again.

During a weekend in Wellington, our hosts suggested PK for an evening meal. After consulting Zomato I was apprehensive because of the average review score and recent comments. I am very pleased to say that any concern was quickly swept away by what was a completely enjoyable eating experience for our party of five. A smallish yet interesting menu with attentive staff who detailed the specials. Prompt service and delicious food. Satisfaction all round!
