Not the famous supremo fish and chips it was back when the Greeks owned it. The batter on all their fried food is stogey under cooked goop. The chips are mcains so perfectly acceptable but nothing to write home about. I feel like they should take down the awards that were won back in the day.However the staff are reasonable and not too rude but don’t expect any banter or small talk. The burgers are nice and big very nice, however there are big name competition in the area (BF) and for a few extra dollars I’d have their burgers and especially their fries. So your call.
I got a fish half a scoop of chips and 6 chicken nuggets.Nuggets were crispy and nice but had taste of fish as if it was cooked in same basketChips were crispy but very little salt and once again had the after taste and scent of fish Fish absolutely disgusting. Smelt disgusting, looked disgusting. One bite and I nearly vomited. It tasted old and bruised and just really really disgusting. My hands even after washing them now still smell like fish. The place was reasonably tidy from what I could see. There’s a goldfish tank at the front which could use a good clean. Price is reasonable. Paid around $11 for my meal. Clean, Tasty, and good value. Great Fish & Chips Shop! Suggest you try the burgers as other reviewers have mentioned, they are huge and delicious
Great crunchy chips that equal any up north and yummy burgers that make a strong statement about value. Highly recommended the $6.50 cheese burger as a hunger fix, they are big burgers with a nice home made patty.
We had fish n chips from here last night, quite good prices and generous servings. I liked the way it was accompanied with a lemon wedge for the fish and also they poked three holes in the paper to make sure the chips didn’t sweat and go soggy. Would definitely go again, wish I’d read the other reviews about the burgers, might have to try them next time! 🙂
Best burgers (fish and chip shop) in Wellington hands down. I miss living up the road from this marvel. Cheese and Egg burger always a family favourite. Not so hot on the fish and chips but burgers are absolutely worth it
Mean as value err1. Burgers are a particular highlight. Better than your average shark n spuds by a long shot. Regulars when my mates lived in hataitai at 4.20 on a Sunday.
