So, tried this one despite reviews, admittedly we tried this one prior to the last two reviews. We got the Chicken Tikka (dry, not the curry), Butter Chicken and a Chicken Saag. Tikka, good, Butter Chicken, good, Chicken Saag, A bit strange – it was kinda a mix between a korma and what most would consider a normal saag. Good overall, would try this place again.
I recently moved to the neighborhood I tried my usual favorite which was a Palak Paneer with a Plain Naan and was pretty disappointed. I waited 10 to 15 minutes indicating it was made to order but there was very little flavor to the curry itself. The portion was large and was easily enough rice and curry for two; and was priced well. It was a shame as I had high hopes considering how long they have been around and what others have said. It was just very bland and not a patch on the same at other India restaurants/Takeaways.

Had a really disappointing first meal from here – the fish madras was completely bland, not even a hint of spice or flavour. The aloo gobi tasted overwhelmingly of tomato paste, the cauliflower seemed old, and there were exactly zero cashews in it. The roti was not like any roti I’ve ever had before – it looked/tasted more like a wholemeal tortilla and was very dry. We also waited 40 minutes on a quiet New Years day. Not sure what was going on as this place was meant to be very good! Maybe the usual cook was away? Definitely not good enough.
Great food here. Never had a disappointing dish. The $11 meal option with half meat, half rice a plain naan and drink is a real winner. The chicken madras, in fact any chicken dish is gorgeous here.
Awesome Indian food. I was surprised to see the quality with quantity. Authentic Indian curries. Love the food and quick turnaround for my orders.
This is our local Indian takeaway, we have been getting food from here on an almost weekly basis for the last few months. The food is amazingly tasty and very filling. We have tried various dishes and have been pleasantly surprised with all of them. Our favourites are butter chicken and lamb madras. The owners of this store are very friendly and polite – we always feel very welcome here. The food has always been ready on time. Prices here are very reasonable and their $11 deal (1/2 curry, drink, naan) is a great bargain. We will continue to visit Crown and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food.
