I think blue bell is One of best cafe in wellington. Food is very good and staff is very friendly. I always enjoyed there. I go every weekends.
Not sure what’s happened to their pies?? Got a stockman, it was barely warm and basically a chewy steak and onion pie with bit of cold hash brown at the bottom. Didn’t it used to have bacon and cheese too? On top of that pulled piece of fluff out too. Yum- not. Dissapointing considering other options around
My partner and I come here every few weeks and we just love it. I reckon they have the best iced chocolates in Wellington, everything is in proportion. I also really like the cheese and bacon wedges and they always do good eggs. It’s a great, dependable cafe with very reasonable prices and we always enjoy our meal here. They have fantastic pies, a good selection of brunch food on their menu and a vast array of sweet treats, which are delicious. They do doughnuts on the weekend which always look great and their lamingtons are amazing – the size of your face! I would always recommend Blue Belle’s as a solid brunch option. 🙂
This is one of our local cafés in Island Bay and my review is an assemblage of multiple visits. The deli style cafe serves Tex-Mex fare, home-made pies and the usual selection of cakes and baked treats. Service can be patchy at busy times but is invariably friendly. Seating outside provides a cooling breeze and access to Island Bay village. A solid performer without being truly memorable.
Been here today 2/11/16 for lunch. Me and a friend ordered a frittata each and a coffee and a tea. My friends coffee arrived then our food came, very quick and delicious. I’d nearly finished my lunch and was a bit thirsty. So I went inside and asked if my tea was ready. They didn’t know what id ordered so I told them it was an English breakfast tea. The lady who served me said ‘oh yeah it’ll be straight out’. It arrived within minutes and I let it brew for a few minutes but it was cold and tasteless. We left soon afterwards. I came all the way from the hutt for a nice lunch, which was very tasty I must admit. But it would have been nice to have a hot cup of tea to go with it.
Blue Belle is our favourite cafe in Island Bay! We dine there often, and the food and service is always good! They make their own pies in a variety of delicious flavours and the cooked breakfasts are amazing. The coffee is always good too! I love the vibe of Blue Belle, its relaxed yet classy, and always bustling which goes to show how popular it is! Keep up the good work guys!
