About 12 years ago I visited Jesters in Hamilton. It was a bit pricy but pies were good enough. Then when I saw this in Johnsonville I wanted to try. I did but well. I am not sure whether my memory tricks me or owner changed or something else. Pies were not that good. Just OK and don’t think I will buy again. What a shame!
Tired the gluten free Maharaja. It was not good. Worst butter chicken filling ever. It was definitely not a proper butter chicken. Did not finish the pie. Pastry was fine but filling not worth it. Will not buy again

We went to Jesters shortly after it opened. We weren’t blown away, felt average so haven’t been back since. Gave it another go today for a lunch-on-the-run.The place seemed a bit unorganised as far as they had run out of ketchup, the loo had no hand towels and some of the cutlery still had remnants of food on them (maybe a poor cycle in the dishwasher). Small points. And the person serving managed to get us some ketchup from a bottle and put it in a pottle.That said, the pie was good, really satisfying. Great ratio of pastry to filling. Tasty filing and plenty of it. An improvement on the first visit. The fries were epic. soft on the inside, crisp on the outside with great seasoning. A little bit on the salty side but I prefer that to too little salt.Enjoyable, will visit again.
For a place that specializes in pies you would think that they would have nailed it. Unfortunately the pies just aren’t that great. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with them, but they are just average. I actually prefer pies from Z or BP over jesters
Wow I haven’t had a pie for many years as I am gluten free. Finally a place that sells yummy gluten free pies thank you. Will defiantly be back and great to see you have frozen pies as well ☺
I’ve always experienced good customer service here. The food is pretty good and there’s plenty to choose from. I think it’s a pretty decent price to pay too 🙂
