Too much hype about this place. Can be too expensive & I am not sure what they are putting in – too much sugar? Not bad cake but certainly not the best. Therefore please reduce the price according to the quality.
Our family popped in to Nada Bakery located conveniently en route out of Wellington. Great little bakery, the longer you stand inside the more you want to buy. Apple donut perfectly dusted in cinnamony sugar, could have done with some more apple filling but otherwise good. Savoury mushroom slice was nicely topped but would have been nicer slightly heated. Great selection of classic bakery goods such as fruit pastries, delicious lemon madeira cake, spicy cheese straws and would next time try the Sally Lun and custard filled donut.
Nada is our preferred bakery in Johnsonville. On average we’ll visit every couple of weeks. It’s consistent and has a wide range of savoury and sweet items. We generally buy slices and/or pies (and savouries). The pies are tasty. Good proportion of filling to pastry. The pastry is flakey and fillings flavoursome with good sized, proper meat chunks. They offer a number of different varieties to choose from.Tip 1: Make sure the doors on the pie heater are on the correct side. The label for the type of pie are on the sliding glass doors. They are labelled ‘Left’ and ‘Right’, just not always in the correct position sometimes. The slices are good, although I do find them to be very sweet. I still enjoy them though. Again lots of variety. Some colourful character choices for kids.Tip 2: They always have a plate of bite sized portions of one of their products on the counter to try.Pies are about $4.90 each. I’ve tried several varieties and have always enjoyed them. Chicken & bacon, Mince & cheese. Steak & Cheese, Chicken curry etc. They also offer various breads, cakes (whole), coffee, pre-made sandwiches and rolls and soft drinks. All round a good bakery with plenty of options. We enjoy going. Staff are friendly too.
