The pho was average, I tried the chicken pho. The chicken had a slight smell to it. However, it was worth the amount paid for. Pro tip: ask for chilli…

This place is a hidden gem! The spicy beef noodles are absolutely delicious. A hearty, mildly spicy broth packed full of round rice noodles, Vietnamese sausage, bbq pork and tender beef. Big portions and served with fresh veges on the side too.
Had a quick lunch here with the wife. I ordered the special beef Pho and my wife ordered the chicken Pho.Pho was ready about 5 mins after ordering. Though the Phos tastes good it did not come with the traditional herbs like Vietnamese Mint etc. The chillies also seemed like they had been sitting around for a few days. Though the guy behind the counter was friendly enough it was typical food court service, take the order and serve the food.Price was pretty much the same as you would pay I Wellington city. The only advantage really in coming here for Pho instead of heading into the city is it was probably easier to find a park in Johnsonville.Food – 5/10Service – 5/10Cost – 5/10Would I return – Probably not. Would probably head into the city to get more authentic Pho.
Food is yummy and they give good portions! I love their combination beef noodle soup ! We will definitely be back to visit again. It is definitely good value and healthier than some of the other options available .
Great food fast, huge portions. Awesome to see healthier options at the johnsonville mall. Chicken pho or spicy fish noodles are my favourites.
I ordered for rare beef Pho Bo, which was ready in about five minutes. It was tasty and well presented, with the veges (lettuce and a bit of coriander and mint plus mung bean sprouts, and lemon wedge) on a separate saucer. A healthy and somewhat filling meal (they could add a tad more rice noodles). The staff here are always nice and accommodating. The facility is clean and it’s just by the rear entrance of the mall. A good value meal, and I am pleased that they are becoming more popular.
A nice addition to johnsonvilles food court, food is quick and fresh.I’m a big fan of noodle soups and spicy food so my fav dish so far is hue spicy beef.much less greasy and not as heavy as the other options in the food court.
Friday night, and after a late lunch, we just didn’t know what we wanted for dinner. I was keen for a Vietnamese or something similar as was my partner. However, we didn’t want to eat out but to get home and relax. We left the CBD and decided we’d just pick something up at Johnsonville Mall.As we entered we saw Pho Bac (Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine) – which I didn’t realise was there – it was meant to be!The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining the differences between each noodle soup dish, although actually it didn’t seem like there was much difference, except for the type of noodle, but it was all good. They also entertained my reminiscing about my time travelling through Vietnam.I ordered the Hue Spicy Beef ($12.50), my partner ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup ($11.50). $24.00 all up.Only took about five minutes to prep the meals. They gave us the broth in a separate container to the noodles and meat. Basically, you heat up the broth at home then pour it over the noodles so that its nice and hot.We both felt the same about our meals. They were tasty, flavoursome with plenty of broth, noodles and meat. The Hue Beef was nice a spicy, a good kick which I enjoyed. The downside was a lack of veg, I thought it was coming with more vegetables which would have completed the dishes. Instead it came with sliced raw onions and garnish, that’s all, so it was basically broth, noodles and meat. The meat wasn’t the best quality either, not that I expected it to be but it could have been better. The slices of beef had a streak of gristle through the middle making it hard work.Despite those less than perfect aspects, this was still a healthier option to some other choices in the area and it did hit the spot as they were tasty and fresh.Would I go back? Yes.
