Living in Johnsonville there are several options for Chinese. We’ve tried a couple but not all.We’ve always found ShanLee to be consistently good so we don’t feel the need to go anywhere else. The dishes are big. We order two and that’s enough for us (two adults) and there is always some left over.Mostly we get the same dishes: Chicken Chow Mein, and Sweet and Sour Pork. The Chicken Chow Mein comes packed with chunky veg. Onions, carrots, courgette, celery, broccoli and cauliflower. The veg is always nicely cooked, still crunchy. Sauce complements the dish, doesn’t overpower it.The S&S Pork is tasty and flavoursome. As far as S&S sauces go, it’s not overly artificial tasting or gooey like some we’ve tried. It generally comes with a couple of chunks of pineapple as well. The batter on the pork is crisp, not soggy and it’s the right amount.We get the S&S Pork on rice. The tray is two thirds S&S with one third rice. A good ratio. For both dishes it was: $23.50.On a separate note, we used to get fish and chips here too. They are good, but for us we found a slightly better option in J.Ville.All round based on our experiences, a very good, consistent takeaway.
