Our group of 6 friends dined at this restaurant last night. On arriving, no-one greeted us or escorted to our reserved table. It’s as if no one really cared less.Eventually we found our table and an kinda unfriendly waiter came over and took our orders. We ordered three entrees and six main courses. The potato wedges entree was very nice, however we couldn’t say the same for the chicken and squid entrées, which were so undersized that they could almost be termed as a non-event.Two of the group including myself ordered the Scotch fillet steak mains. We both especially requested our steaks to be cooked medium-rare but what came out was really so much well-done that it felt like we cutting into an old piece of leather. When we mentioned it to the unfriendly waiter, he just more or less shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Our four other friends however felt their mains were quite nice and passable. Their only real complaint being their mixed vegetables were obviously of the frozen variety, rather than the fresh varieties.Summing up, because of its inconsistent food quality and its very poor service, I cannot therefore personally recommend the lnnkeepers pub restaurant.
Great food – six of us all different meals and all very happy, good sized meals and well presented – very satisfied. Friendly staff – will return.
Our favorite pub. Great bar staff and friendly locals. Generous sized meals and good selection of beers. Especially enjoy Friday night raffles and draws, few beers and the Guiness burger for dinner.
Don’t walk past this place!! Great food and friendly staff. Good drink selections also. The food was tasty and huge portions. The salads were fresh with a unique chilli balsamic dressing. (Amazing) Definitely worth trying and we will be back.
I have been to this place 3 times in the last month and its known for its “$10 big brekkie”. Its what you expect from a cheap Irish pub with a large gambling room out the back. You get what you pay for and thats about it. Not everything comes out warm or perfect but for $10 thats OK. Today (Mothers Day)I was surprised to see the menu had changed and the ”$10 big brekkie” was now $19.50 with the inclusion of a very minimal amount of cooked but very dry button mushrooms. I had high hopes thinking maybe there has been some improvement to warrant the price increase but as per previous times not everything on the my or my wifes plate was warm and it was very underwhelming. I could tell that they have been trying to make changes with new black table clothes and paprika sprinkled on the rim of every plate (including my 10 year olds kids menu plate) but nothing has really changed. I went onto the “1841” app and found that their “big breakfast” is $12 and they have nothing on their brunch menu over $17. If I had known about the price change prior to sitting down (their website still hasnt been updated) I would have gone 100 metres up the road to 1841 where the food, service and decor is superior. On the plus side the staff are friendly and helpful. The kids menu is good value but unfortunately the brunch menu is just so overpriced with their new changes that I will not be going back again. In fact I could go to the Wellington city waterfront and get better value. I think they need to research what other pub/bar in johnsonville is charging and the quality of food as the differences are black and white.
We ordered a takeaway meal m steak, creamy garlic sauce and pork belly .Stated a time to pick meal up.We collected , service was friendly and efficient and meal was ready on time.Meal was well presented in takeaway containers and absolutely delicious.Would certainly go there again and look forward to dining in next time. Well done Innkeeper
Nothing to rave about, but the food was definately ok and edible. It’s your average pub food with nothing spectacular. Had the fish and only wish the proportion between the fish and the chips had been better thought of, there was just soo much chips with only 3 pieces of fish – definately not fresh fish. Salad was fresh and with great flavour. $17.00. Dessert was home made apple pie. This was yum, pastry was great and there is definately alot of apple – maybe a bit too much, but it was good. $6.00. Would go here again if other preferred restaurants in the area are fully booked, but wouldn’t be my first preference due to my taste and expectations. Would be happy to go around the corner and spend a bit more for better quality. Great service though definately friendly enough and the place has a ‘regular/local’ feel about it.
