  Best damn takeaways in Lyall bay, Kilbirnie area. Very friendly staff, clean premises. Highly recommend. I’ve been using this takeaways since arriving here a year ago and drive past many others to come to Athena.

  Been using this takeaway for years and never had any problems whatsoever. But I keep forgetting to leave a review. So here it is. I normally order fish and chips which are delicious, can’t remember how much but it’s not expensive. Then we take them down to the beach area and eat them in the car right out of the paper. Its so easy to find too, just drive along the promenade with the airport runway behind you and when you see the park on the left turn right there.You get alot for your money, as we are always full when we’ve finished hahahaWe’ve had sausages before which are great for the kids and the jam doughnuts are tasty. Oh and the potato fritters are delish. Keep it up guys, we will be back again and again.

  I purchased some takeaway food at this establishment last night the 16th of Feb 2014. I first purchased food over a year a go and at that stage Athena food was reasonable quality. Unfortunately since then the quality of the food has deteriorated rapidly to the point of being inedible, unpleasant and unappetizing. I have concluded that this place is without a doubt the worst takeaway in Wellington- and I do not say that lightly .
