Customer service isn’t the best but the food makes up for it. Their salt and pepper squid is to die for!! The best thing on their menu, I get it everytime i visit
The best orange beef in town! Super tasty and enough for two with rice. The service is quick and they are pretty well priced. Best in the kilbirnie area I think. Definitely a takeaway rather than a sit in though
Average at best, sweet and sour chicken was more batter than chicken, crispy chicken was bland and over cooked. Egg fried rice and wontons were alright.
For the price, they’re offering decent sized servings and reasonable food. I ordered Mapo Tofu and dumplings. Wasn’t happy with the dumplings they weren’t cooked properly, however this could have been due in part to the fact they fried them instead of steaming them as requested. The Mapo Tofu however was decent and was worth the $11 I paid and I would return for it again.
Unfortunately gone downhill big time since the other owners left about 18 months ago. Fried rice, Wonton soup all average and the young man behind the counter doesn’t really get NZ customer service.
Ordered the singapore style rice noodle (guy behind the counter didnt know what bee hoon was) and the combination fried rice. Noodles were good, I would buy these again, decent amount of flavour and fillings and not sweetened, great wok smokeyness in this dish. The combination fried rice was very average and I honestly can make better at home, wife thought so too. Would head back for the noodles and pehaps try some other dishes. The old Tongs fried rice was one of the best in welly but the new one, not so much.
My favourite takeaway store in kilbirnie for sure! A family Friday night favourite, their chips are the best chips!!! And their nasi goreng is my favourite!! They really specialise in Chinese food and i would recommend this shop to everyone.
