Awful! I worked at a KFC years ago and know the pay is miserable and they don’t always operate a particularly staff-friendly policy but that doesn’t account for the shockingly poor service and quality of food. Our last order of aioli bacon burgers were ‘slapped’ together with a gallon of mayo and half the contents lying in the bottom of wrapper. Another gripe for me is never getting a receipt – even when asking for it (especially when KFC forthefans is running). Like another reviewer, if ever we feel the ‘KFC craving’ coming on we head all the way to Upper Hutt and I can only hope KFC staff and managers read these reviews!.

Since amalgamating – The quality has gone down. Chicken is served in paper bags, chips too – Which, for most part, are always soggy. To make matters worse they always ram it into one bag and squash everything together. If you don’t want to spend $40.00 on crap food then jump back into the car, reverse out and go to Pak n Save – $5.00 Weekly specials hooraah!
Certain staff at this particular branch are horrible, they are arrogant and do not care about their customers. Food is cooked to a KFC quality but the service of particular staff make you want to leave without ordering. When waiting for our food, we continually felt watched and being judged. It wasn’t a great experience.
Kfc lower hutt. beautiful store. my most favourite place in the hutt.staff how ever. shocking and one was very rude. I took my grandson to kfc with his step grandfather who was paying for his birthday treat. the lady taking the order was of indian descent. her English was not very good. she was distracted and I had to repeat my order twice. when the order reached our table it was in a bag. she had not been listening to me say it was eat in.we started to eat our meal when I noticed that some of the chicken was a funny color. so I took it back to the counter and showed the lady who served up. she said that spicy chicken. I told her that’s not what we ordered. she debated with me. I asked her, why would I order something that none of us liked. she went and got a young man who was serving on the drive in. he said im sorry theres nothing I can do. AND SAID HE WAS BUSY ON THE DRIVE IN. I WAS DISGUSTED. ANGRY, AND UPSET. $45 DOLLARS SPENT ON KFC THAT WAS OUT OF A BAG AND WASNT EVEN THE RIGHT ORDER. WE WALKED OUT AND AFTER ONLY BEING ABLE TO EAT HALF THE CONTENTS. THE GUY IN CHARGE WAS NOT EVEN INTERESTED IN HEARING WHAT WE HAD TO SAY. IF THE LADY BEHIND THE COUNTER HAD LISTENED WE WOULD OF GOT THE RIGHT ORDER AND WE WOULD OF GOT IT IN A TRAY. NOW WE GO TO UPPER HUTT. ITS SMALLER BUT WE CAN UNDERSTAND THE LADY ON THE COUNTER AND SHE CAN UNDERSTAND US,
We only give it 1 for rating due to the fact it exists. We have to go out of our way to get there, so over 6 months we have been 3 times and every time they have got our order wrong especially if you order a meal pack or of of their cheaper items.. We hoped things had improved but has really gone down hill.To add insult to injury on our last visit we rung them 7 times within an hour with no reply.Only one check out operator is one when people are lining up out the door even when its cold when they have facilities for more service. Direction for lines disorganized and can not hear numbers be called out for your order. Self service for soft drinks was a joke when many have run out and no replacement.Overall the surroundings felt damp dirty cold and you are undervalued as a paying customer. You will get better chicken anywhere else but here including chips which had no flavor.
Not sure what most of these previous reviewers were expecting when they went to a cheap fast food restaurant such as KFC, but I have had positive encounters with the store thus far. I have always went through the drive through and ordered a Zinger Burger combo and so far it has been cooked to the same regular standard. My chips were not soggy and nor was the burger itself or the chicken tasteless. People have to remember that they are shopping at a cheap fast food joint and not going out for fine dining. You get what you paid for.
