The yum char is good, none of the dishes I tried were a let down. Although there is not as much variety as in Wellington I think the quality of the dishes is better. Service can be slow during busy periods. Some inexperienced wait staff hired lately. Recommend you dine early – around 11:30 am to beat the rush. Book ahead if you can. Decor is dated. If they improved the service I would have given them a 4.0. Overall recommended.

This is extremely disappointing that I have to write this review however I am saddened that I will no longer ever go back to this place. Aside from the atrocious customer service, the cleanliness is a serious problem took my 7 month old son here and sat him in one of their high chairs which was obviously dirty and unclean and since I had no disinfectant wipes we did had do the best we could- wow was that a mistake because my son became quite sick the next day. I’ve always loved this place as it was my late grandmothers fav lunch spot however I have put up with their bad service, bad attitude and over priced restaurant for way too long. Sometimes its worth risking the taste of the food for quality.

Had always wanted to try this yum cha, and got the chance a few months ago with two friends, we visited on a Friday mid day, we were served quite promptly, we ordered more than we could eat, the food was on point, fresh, tasty, so good, and filling I’m keen to visit again, next time with my family.

The food here is tasty and definitely the best yum char in the Hutt valley , service is moderate as they kept missing our table, I did note they also missed another couples table and did wonder if is was because we look European

Have been to this restaurant about 5 times for Yum Cha over the last 6 months and each time have been disappointed with the service. Our last visit was the worst of all and we won’t be going back – we were ignored and served barely any food, some of it cold by the time it came our way. They eventually took an order for us but the food never came (after waiting over 30 mins and the restaurant was very quiet) so we left. The food is enjoyable – above average but not as good as the yum cha places in Wgtn City. The prices are reasonable – much more affordable than town.
