I have enjoyed 5 meals from this place over the last 3 weeks. Each dish was delicious and at $13 to $14 was very reasonable. There appears to be new owners since I there last time. I rate their chinese dishes higher than most dine in reastaurants in the Hutt. I will certainly go back for more.
Very polite service! The people working here are very kind and accommodating. I find the fish oddly sweet, but the Sweet and Sour Pork, noodles, spring rolls are always delicious.
Been here a couple of times now for the lunch special and a bit of fried stuff. The service from the lady behind the counter is good, she is very polite and friendly. The lunch specials are like a medium size for only $7.30 and there is a good selection, cooked fresh while you wait. My last visit saw me trying the chicken fried rice. Its not bad and its exactly what it says on the menu, there is rice, chicken, egg and a touch of spring onion, its very pale (I dont think there is soy sauce) but its actually pretty tasty. Great for a quick lunch. Ill try something else next time, (had this twice and fried stuff). Thanks.
We took take away from here. Ordered Pad Thai, Green Thai curry, Mee Goreng, Cashew chicken.Thai green curry was actually white color, I think they didn’t put the green chili paste at all. Mee Goreng was tasteless, even the rice was not sticky rice. The cashew chicken had more of cashews and veggies than chicken. We liked the pad thai though. We asked for vegetarian noodles and the guy offered to put chicken stock in it so didn’t try. The staff was polite.
The orange beef is SO GOOD. Highly recommended. Not the most flavourful fried rice, but nothing I’ve ordered has been bad. I like the shanghai noodles also.
A great place under excellent service, cooking and quality food. A little bit busy on Friday and Saturday evening, but, it worth to wait. Strongly recomend 1. sweet and sour pork, just full box of meat, no rice on bottom, great taste of sauce. 2. Mee goreng. The Malaysia spicy noodle. 3. Shanghai noodle. Great smell with onion, spring onion, and bbq pork. One of my favorite.
This is a hidden gem, serving better-than-your-average quality chinese/malay meals. Actual, proper Malaysian influenced (full of spices and satay etc) Chinese food that comes out of a busy looking kitchen. Staff are great, especially the older lady who will happily give you 2 forks if you want to share 1 meal. There’s a Chinese saying that people who don’t smile should not go into business, there’s no problem with that here. It’s essentially a waiting room for you to pick up your meals that come through a hole in the wall, and the room can get a little cramped when its full of customers. But the great food’s the reason why the place gets full. It’s next to the animal feed store(I don’t know why there an animal feed store in the middle of the Hutt either) and across from the Kebab place on High St, just North of the centre of town.
