Older sister to the one I frequent in Moera, this Coffee Box is conveniently situated in central LH. The service here isn’t as slick as the Moera branch but I appreciate being able to use the same coffee card at multiple locations and the coffee is still good.

Coffee on the go is what they do, it tastes good but wouldn’t be somewhere i go everyday. It a cool set up tho, in a shipping container. I’ve only been on the weekend when it’s not very busy so don’t know what it’s like during the week jenjaroo.com

It was probably the innovative people of Christchurch who started the trend for mobile or prefabricated eateries. Wellington seems now to have a plethora, ranging from pretty dire to brilliant. This little coffee container is at the upper end of the scale. It won’t appear on cuisine’s top 50 restaurants any day soon, but if you’re after a snack and coffee and are in Lower Hutt, give it a go. It’s opposite and north of the Mediterranean warehouse, an easily missed little glass-fronted shipping container, next to a car yard. Entering by stepping up on a concrete block, there isn’t much room in front of the counter, so you may see a cluster of folk waiting outside. This morning we had a hot chocolate, a flat white and a toasted pork rib, cheese and BBQ sauce sandwich – deliciously savoury and of a size sufficient for two.Coffee excellent – Supreme is usually good, but well made, nice depth of flavour and actually tasted of coffee (why is it that many don’t??).All in all give it a go.
