Visited on a lovely sunny Sunday with family of 7 and 2 children without a booking and the staff had no problem seating is straight away.Staff were were friendly and very helpful, one of our party is cealic and they have a additional menu that highlights what is and can be altered. We had the citrus Ceviche, bao buns, fish and chips, the market fish, Caprese salad and the salt & pepper squid which is the only thing that we could fault. The squid was dry and over cooked. But everything else was amazing. Both or children thought the chips were amazingWould definitely come back
I paid $29 for a seafood linguine that was meant to include: prawns, chilli, parsley and smoked salmon. As it looked like a really nice place, I was hoping for huge prawns, that were hopefully fresh. What I received was a linguine with frozen prawns from a packet (including a lot of just tails) and capers. Not what I ordered whatsoever. I didn’t say anything at the time because our waiter was so bloody nice and friendly, I didn’t want to make a fuss. I was really surprised that a restaurant that looked so lovely could serve something so different from the menu. My boyfriend also had a strange meal, his lamb backstrap was meant to come with bacon lardons, and actually just had a slab of overcooked back bacon on his plate. Very strange, we weren’t at all impressed!
Was absolutely by far the best linguine I have ever had.. and the dark chocolate mousse with plum was so delish. I have eaten there in the past and it was ok.. but it is under new management, has a new menu and definitely new chefs.. rebranded as Union Square it is now highly recommend!
Lovely old building. Comfortable old world charm in one of the most significant wine regions. We dined on venison, steak and pork, all beautifully cooked and seasoned. The bottle of Pinot perfectly complemented the dishes on offer, helping to complete a wonderful evening. A tad pricey but would highly recommend.
Pretty average food for high prices and very slow service. Staff are not friendly and look they would rather be elsewhere. Often a very long wait that needs to be addressed. This place survives purely on the tourist trade.
Standard pub grub, was disappointed as I expected more from a restaurant in a historic building. Staff friendly and food ok. Would probably be best as a large group rather than a couples evening out.
Beautiful character building that is handily located in the centre of the village. I had the scotch steak which was only the slightly rare side of medium. Flavourful and well presented. A very relaxing spot to park up for a few beers and a lazy Sunday lunch. Only slight downside was the service was on the slow side, but you probably wouldn’t be in a rush anyway.
