Absolute rubbish, 1 hour and 15 mins wait for 3 dishes, Chicken fried rice , tasteless, Egg fu young, onions were raw, vegetables were under cooked, egg omelette was just cooked, and sweet and sour pork, that was okay. I was pretty disgusted at the wait time we did order on site but still that amount of time waiting is ridiculous and we still walked out of there with raw food, never, never, never again! 🙁 I would recommend only that you avoid going there ever!

They have the best sweet and sour pork in Lower Hutt. Chips are good and fair portions. Decent sized fish. Pork buns and wantons are damn good.
Absolutely amazing. Everything taste so good and always go there every week. Really nice dishes and burgers and the wait is very good. Good prices as well i highly recommend going there.

Mei’s Takeaways is like the dream Chinese food takeout place – family run, affordable and the stuff is made fresh and with skill. They have a great value offer during lunch time – a $5 container of mixed stuff from the bain-marie (sweet and sour pork, fried rice, chow mein and egg foo yung) and they really pack it in! They also do giant catering trays for big events. But my favourite thing is that they make their own wontons and dumplings, and they are fantastic! I would recommend the pork wonton and noodle soup, it is massive (bigger than my head) and packed full of delicious veges, huge homemade wontons, noodles, bbq pork and hearty stock – for only $7!!!!
