Finally find a Chinese bakery that satisfies me as much as I want! Love their cream filling bun stick and Cantonese melon bun!! Fresh and tasty with reasonable price.Comparing with the other Chinese bakery on the Cuba street, I love this shop more. The staff is nice and the cake is so so so delicious!! I will come back often if possible since it’s hard to find Chinese bakery in Wellington.

The only reason I’m giving them a 4 is because their sweets are delicious. I’ve never tried their savoury menu. The cakes has a really clean taste. It melts in your mouth and it’s not overpoweringly sweet. My favourite is their taro sponge cake. However, their service is terrible, they definitely should start paying more attention to service. I would recommend take away, definitely NOT a place where you can sit down and eat your food properly.

I’ve been a customer of this cube bakery (蛋糕大王)for many years. I seldom ‘dine in’, and most of the time just take away. If you would like a nice, ‘proper’ breakfast that you would expect from a normal cafe, I won’t recommend it. The environment just doesn’t look too inviting. However, I’ve been very satisfied with the food I bought from this place, especially a Tiramisu cake I bought for my husband’s 40th birthday and the fruit cake for my son. Every guest was very impressed with the taste and finished the whole cake after dinner at the pub. The only thing I wasn’t too happy about was that I ordered the cake like 1-2 weeks prior. When I arrived to collect the cake, they haven’t even started making it! The chef took the sponge cake and started to decorate it. I must say I was quite impressed with how fast he finished decorating the cake. I waited there for like 10 -15 minutes. So overall, reasonably cheap price for the cake and the buns on shelf with packaging that they make daily have authentic Chinese taste. As for service, just have the expectation that you will get from a ‘fish & chips shop’ if that makes sense.

The actual food is good, the service, however, absolutely appalling. I don’t know whether it’s the bad weather that bothered the old man a lot who looks like the boss there was just completely offhand.Basically like When I was standing by the counter, he ignored me. And then asked if I could have a bag,he even didn’t answered me. Then I said do you have a clip he simply acted like he didn’t care because I already paid for the food.Really couldn’t be complaining.Overall very bad, disappointing experience.

I would expecting cube bakery could do a better job but instead they are looks like going down the slop. I knew they employed a very good baker from Taiwan, there isn’t a reason they should go down the hill. Think the business , think of your customer, see the big picture!

Ok prices. All Day Breakfast is terrible, and too greasy; so bad I couldn’t eat it. Undercooked fries. Coffee is not bad, drinkable but not good.

Great noodle wonton soup, amazing fries, pies and sausage rolls (they’re massive, a meal in itself!) and a huge selection of both western treats, and chinese sweets, breads and savory buns – worth stopping into if you are in the area. The young girl is fantastic, the older two men are a tad grumpy.
