Favourite cafe outside of the CBD 🙂 amazing vegan choices, honestly everything in the counter is full of flavour and they always have a yummy changing salad to go with it. The green tea latte and snickers milkshake are amazing and a cute quaint place to sit. Highly recommend the tofu satay pie and the quinoa cashew bake

Vegetarian food isn’t usually my meal of choice, however that doesn’t mean I’m against trying vegetarian or alternative meals.Pranah Cafe is vibrant, warm and clean. We had a Jumbo Samosa and a Filo Pastry, which were flavoursome, colourful and surprisingly filling. Good addition to Newtown scene and is definitely a great spot to hit on the weekends. Showstopper: Food looked absolutely rapturous and cafe staff were lovely without being over bearing.Overall Grade: B+

Pranah is my go to for vegetarian/vegan meals and cafe purchasesI love the idea of a fresh, healthy place to buy options which are clearly labelled and cater to all dietary requirementsI have mostly purchased cabinet food, though I once purchased pancakes off the menu which were made vegan on requestThe staff are all knowledgeable and incredibly friendlyI would highly recommend and suggest they open another branch in the CBD as there is a lack of original cafes such as Pranah in Wellington

Can only give a four as I got a takeaway.I popped in this morning to get something for my lunch later. Chose the veg pie, more like a savoury cheesecake. Oh my, I think I have a new addiction, I loved it. I am now kicking myself for not getting baklava . Why didn’t I get the baklava? I will have to come back. The cabinet food all looked stunning and I am not easily pleased when it comes to cafes. I am thinking in my head about ways I can get back to try more, Newtown is not near my home or work but I am sure I will think of something.

  • I Love Food

Wellington is lacking healthy cafe options which is why I love Pranah! Alternative / vegetarian food options here. I would definitely recommend the oat & walnut pancakes! Also really enjoy the green tea lattes here – only place in Wellington I’ve been able to find these so far!

Fabulous breakfast – very generous portions of scrambled eggs, spinach and mushrooms! Happy and friendly service. I’ll be back. Coffee – long black – seemed weak although good taste.

Clearly popular in newtown. Nice vibe, music, cosy ambience, and a good selection of cabinet food – friande, slices, brownies, strudel, salad, vegetarian pies – mushroom, pumpkin, pakoras – all seriously large. A carrot ginger and coconut soup was on offer. The coffee is People’s – appropriate for the ethically veganesque atmosphere – and I was interested in comparing the cafe to the People’s base in constable street. I ordered a trim cap and a friande, which I’d done the day before at people’s. The friande was good, nicely moist. The coffee very well textured, slight bitterness but with a depth better than the alternative down the street.Service was excellent – very friendly – offered paper, yoghurt with friande, choice of chocolate or cinnamon on cap, offered relish to customers buying take-away pies etc etc. very impressed.Must return for lunch.
