We’ve used the office as a work meeting venue on weekday evenings once every month or so. Talk is always accompanied by wine or beer and every so often dinner. One of the good things about the office is that there are multiple spaces inside and out where you can find quiet, noise, sport, sun or (unfortunately) pokies. The service is always ok, the beers are reasonable but the wine list is thin. Food is pub food – no more no less – and at times that’s all you need.

Grumpy bar staff turned away the live band today and didn’t bother to tell any of the people who had come for the live music so we sat, drinking and waiting. Then they were rude to us when we asked when the band was coming. Feel totally ripped off. These guys need to rethink why they are in business – because they won’t get any more from me.

I have been to the office weekly for the last couple of years however there $10 lunch have jumped to $15, I ordered a chicken burger $15 to my disgust I received one chicken tender inside my burger which was cut in half. come on how tight can you be I almost couldn’t see the chicken. I will not be back if this is the quality they are serving its certainly NOT worth the price

It’s hard to compete with the eclectic range of cuisines in the bustling lil suburb of Newtown but if you are looking for ‘plain simple food’ go to The Office. That description might sound bad, but honestly sometimes you just want cheese on toast instead of fillet mignon, right? It was early on a Saturday night, no one knew exactly what they wanted and the only thing we did know was that we wanted food and maybe a drink, an alcoholic drink. The staff were friendly without being overly friendly and when asked the waiter was very willing to make a suggestion and did remind us of the ‘two for one’ special on mains. My request for very well done steak was met, the mushroom sauce while not like my Mum’s wasn’t too bad (translate that to mean that I did make sure I ate every bit). I could’ve done with more roasted potato bits but there was enough on my plate that I wasn’t in danger of ‘fading away’. And I did glance at the glass cabinet full of baked goodness when I ordered my coffee. It was tempting, very tempting. All in all, good kai, good service and just kinda relaxed. Ta!

Have been to this place quite often as Mum is in Hospital, me and my sister ate their for lunch today we paid $17.00 for chips and chicken tenders. When we got the Chicken Tenders there were only 3, so we said is that all we get and yep that’s all you get. Not value for money. chips were okay but they forgot the Aoili Sauce until we said something.Disappointed in the price.

My friend was in hospital recently for some testing, and as she’s allergic to gluten and was hungry, a nurse pointed out that The Office Bar & Cafe, which is just down the road, sells alot of Gluten Free goodies. So off I went! My first impression was of a cute little pub with alot of character. I noticed the food cabinet straight away as it was full of great looking food and was very eye catching. The lady from the kitchen came over as she saw me looking, and told me all about the gluten free options I could choose from – and boy were there alot! I couldn’t decide between the gluten free pea and feta fritters (that were bigger than my fist!)or the gluten free cookies, cakes and slices. Even gluten free pies were available. I ended up getting the fritters and a kremalta slice which both recieved rave review from my friend!I may turn gluten free myself after seeing that food!
