Love this place. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is great but I like the seafood chowder the best. Great serving sizes too, as I am an active person and like my food 🙂
Under new management and a big change. We had breakfast – Eggs Beni were great and hollandaise was freshly made by the taste, eggs perfect. mushrooms on toast again nicely done in slightly garlic sauce with very light and fluffy toast.Good service – will be back
I have had lunch at The Office with a friend twice in the last 2 weeks, and have been a regular here for many years. It has been my favorite café in Paraparaumu.The chef usual chef seems to be there and the food was as good as ever. But the surly non smiling woman serving at the counter was unwelcoming and gruff on both occasions. There were 2 elderly men waiting tables who appeared confused and inexperienced. The standard of service has dropped considerably now, which is such a pity with a great chef. I wonder if there has been a change of ownership recently???
Terrible experience! Went for coffee & muffin with my 6 month old and 4 year old. Woman who owns the cafe served me. Didn’t speak English very clearly so some confusion when I asked for a child size hot chocolate. She got annoyed at me for the confusion & told me off for not being clear. Then kept shouting at me when I was waiting to use the eftpos machine, not to put my card in yet when I wasn’t. I told her she was being very rude by shouting at me and she gave me my $9 back and told me to leave her cafe. I couldn’t believe it! Had to take my 2 children and leave. Extremely rude lady that owns this place. Will NEVER go back!
Been here several times and each time the food has been amazing. The price might be a little steep for some but you’re getting what you pay for and their twilight menu is worth every cent coupled with excellent service, the staff are even happy to accommodate dietary needs with no fuss.Particularly recommend any dish with scallops, they’ve always been cooked to perfection!The desserts could use a touch of work but they’re certainly good if you must have something sweet.
My wife and I had a meal at the Office last weekend. Service was excellent and friendly, lovely waitress. We went for their 2 course special meal. The wife had the scollops with black pudding while I had the kidneys for entree. Both were delicious. For mains my wife had the fish in a sauce and i had the pork. Again, both meals were very good and tasty. Overal, a wonderful meal and experience for the price. Will definitely go back there.
I struggle to understand how majority of these reviews can be so negative and rather petty. As I, myself find it difficult to sum up my experience at the Office Café & Restaurant in one sentence.Upon arriving, I was greeted quickly by a bright and bubbly staff member. They then very genuinely seated me and my wife at a very comfortable table with a view of the beach, and offered us some water. By now I was already very impressed with the atmosphere and the service, and I hadn’t placed my order.I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my wife had a Ceasar Salad. The food was outstanding (I didn’t think I’d have to eat for another week). I found no flaws in anything I ate, and the staff were more than happy to offer us a coffee, or another bottle of water, which both my wife and I found incredibly comforting and how a restaurant’s staff should behave. I will admit the food wasn’t cheap, but I was more than happy to pay the full bill, as it’s very uncommon to pay for a meal worthy of its price these days.Overall, the Office Café & Restaurant had me in awe. Me and my wife will definitely be returning in the near future.
