We usually order take away here. The BEST Nicoise sandwich ever! I also love the Bayonne ans well as the chicken baguette. They used to have a duck baguette, which is sorely missed. A great selection of sweets and cakes as well as some okay bread. But the sweets and the ready made sandwiches and baguettes really stand out. They are very expensive, but if I get a good taste for it, I am happy to pay extra for it. The offer some coking as well as some crepes, which I never have tried.
Excited about visiting the Cafe as it has been some time since I was in Wellington. Slow service, and a couple of the staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing when asked questions about what was in a small roll and a Duchess cake. Ordered those and a chicken pie and 2 coffees. Waited and waited and my friend ate her roll and her cake. I then ate half my Duchess and drank my coffee. After about 25 minutes my pie finally arrived but I had to ask the young guy if he would put it in a box for me to take away and the half a Duchess into a paper bag as I no longer had time to eat them. When he came back with it he had put everything including the salad into the same box. Fine with the pie but the Duchess wasn’t happy! Threw it out! I felt really disappointed with the whole dining experience.

The food on display looks good and the staff are polite and friendly. Unfortunately I ordered a duck roll, it tasted like chicken not duck and the bun/french stick was not fresh. Very disappointed.
Went there for breakfast on sat. A good display of cakes and baked goodies. However I was quite disappointed with the food I ordered. The scrambled eggs were way too running-almost to the point of not eatable. The coffee was the worst I have had in Wellington-considering it is a French cafe the coffee should be at least above average. If I do visit this place I will skip the menu and takeaway some cakes only.
My partner and I stopped for brunch Saturday 4th May ordering French Toast and Corn Fritters, Unfortunately this was the worst brunch served in Wtgn as I regularly dine out. Both dishes must have been prepared very early on /refrigerated for a long period of time – the corn fritters were served crumbled and cold. The French toast bread had stuck together, cold with only slither of bacon, rotten (half) of a banana and also cold. This is not the first time over the past year I’ve been served unsatisfactory / disappointing food from Bordeaux but thought would give them another chance. The service from the front line staff however was great its unfair of the owners for the waiters/waitresses to have to bear the brunt because of poor quality food.
A large and wide selection of sweets, breads and filled rolls greets you on arrival. Plenty of seating is also available and you’ll likely find seating even during busy times. The cafe/bakery has something of a monopoly on account of not having any competition any near. That is probably why the service delivery of services is pretty awful. When busy, it’s not unusual to wait up to 25 minutes for someone as simple as a single coffee. Not clear if that is because of slow-performing barristas or poor delivery system. Either way, it’s poor.
